2017 Fundraising

With a 5% percent cut on our core funding through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Seacourt is seeking support to maintain its facilities and services. The need for this support is outlined in the Appeal below. If you are a UK taxpayer please consider making a Gift Aid contribution as this will increase your donation by 25%. You will need to complete a Gift Aid Declaration available here. Any amount, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Seacourt Fundraising Appeal 2017

I am writing to ask if you could consider supporting us to raise funds to ensure we can continue to provide and improve the facilities and opportunities that Seacourt Print Workshop provides to artists, schools, community groups and the general public.

You may be aware that the process of improving Seacourt’s facilities has been ongoing including, creating gallery spaces, installing new toilets and improving access for people with reduced mobility. Our latest major project has been the replacement of all the lighting in the workshop and we are very grateful to the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI) for funding this work.

We still need to do more.  For example we want to create an enclosed space for etching, relief and lithography work.   And we want to take further measures to improve our energy efficiency and reduce our running costs. In addition to overall improvements we need to increase our overall income to try to compensate for known and possible further funding cuts.

We have recently been informed that our ACNI funding for this year will be cut by 5%.  We need to continue to build our Reserves Fund to safeguard Seacourt in the event of funding being cut even more. This is a strong possibility in the current climate, taking into account the absence of a functioning NI Assembly and the challenges of Brexit.  The situation is not likely to improve in the coming few years.

How can you help?

·       Could you please consider making a Gift Aid donation to Seacourt?  If you are a UK taxpayer any Gift Aid contribution you make will be increased by 25% by the government. So, for example, if you felt able to donate just £12 (equivalent to just £1 per month) that would result in us receiving £15.

·       If you are not a UK taxpayer you can still make a non-Gift Aid donation or you could consider asking a family member or friend, who is a tax payer, to make a donation on your behalf,

Every donation is most gratefully accepted.

A donation can be made in cash or by cheque or by clicking on the donate button above.  To make sure your contribution is increased by 25% please complete a Gift Aid Form and return it to Seacourt as soon as possible.  (The Office, Seacourt Print Workshop, Unit 20, Dunlop Industrial Units, 8 Balloo Drive, Bangor, BT19 7QY)

Thank you very much for giving this appeal your consideration.

With Best Wishes

Edward Ferguson
