Residencies

For many years Seacourt Print Workshop has provided opportunities for artists to visit and work at our facility. The exchange of ideas and approaches to printmaking has been inspiring to our members and beneficial to our visitors. The residency programmes have included a two week International Visiting Artist programme and a three month Artist in Residence Programme.

This year, as part of a year long programme researching non toxic approaches to printmaking we are seeking an artist printmaker with at least 2 years' professional experience who has worked in one or more of the following: Galv-etch, Ferric Chloride etching, CNC machining of plates, water based screen printing, waterless lithography with water based inks.

Duration:

The residency will last for 12 consecutive weeks, beginning on Monday 8 September 2008 and ending on Friday 28 November 2008. These dates may be negotiable in exceptional circumstances but a total of twelve weeks must be completed before the end of 2008.

Artist Fee: £3,000 sterling

This fee will be divided into three equal instalments paid at the beginning of each month. The residency does not include accommodation or travel expenses. While Seacourt Print Workshop will endeavour to assist the artist in every way to secure affordable accommodation, the selected artist must make their own travel and living arrangements. All expenses incurred are the responsibility of the selected artist.

Responsibilities:

The recipient will provide a talk on their practice to members of Seacourt Print Workshop. The recipient will be expected to create a body of work during their residency, ten pieces of which will be selected for exhibition at the end of the residency. Framing will be the responsibility of Seacourt Print Workshop. The selected artist will not be an employee of the studio or its funding bodies, and any taxes or contributions that may be due from any fees paid are the sole responsibility of the artist.

All applications and accompanying materials must arrive by Friday 9th May 2005.
