Relief printing using water washable inks

These inks rolled up easily, spreading evenly on both roller and lino. The first application of ink was hard to print and the block had to re-rolled and printed several times. Blues were particularly difficult. Subsequent colours were easily overlaid. One benefit was that the inks are more opaque than the oil based inks I regularly use and the colours remained unchanged by underlying colours. I found that I did need to use vegetable oil alongside water when cleaning both roller and block.
