Jill McKeown: As the Fog was Lifting, digital pint and screen print

In a series of eight photographic vignettes the narrative depicts the returning to an ancestral homeland. When looking at the Schwemberger collection of photographs I was particularly drawn to the images of the vast expanses of land, how this land was used and the placing of the dwellings.

The series of images within the print focus on the journey of a friend returning to her own ancestral homeland, a now derelict Northern Irish farmhouse and the surrounding land.

‘As the fog was lifting’ is a digital print applied as chine colle with silk-screened text. The digital prints are duotones loosely based on the colour symbolism of the native American medicine wheel.
