"Much of my subject matter is taken from plants, and I am particularly drawn to those with strong, sculptural shapes. I find that printmaking enables me to express this quality. I also work from the countryside in and around the Mourne Mountains, where the play of light constantly changes the landscape. Drawing is the starting point for my work, allowing me to become familiar with my subject matter, and to analyse and emphasise the qualities which appeal to me."
