One of the images I found particularly striking was of Zuni water carriers with traditional pots on their heads but wrapped incongruously in tartan shawls. I choose to incorporate the importance of weaving, and all it means metaphorically as well as culturally within Navajo tradition, with images of the four sacred mountains that geographically define the Navajo homeland. The central Bute stands in the middle of this homeland. The colours were selected as they are associated with the sacred mountains.
