Print DC: Rediscover NI....Over here

Helen C. Fredrick, founder of Washington’s artists’ resource Pyramid Atlantic, has compiled an exhibition of original prints that displays the breadth of contemporary, graphic arts as practiced in D.C. today. Twenty artists from Pyramid Atlantic and Washington Printmakers are represented in a dual exhibition being hosted by Belfast Print Workshop and Seacourt Print Workshop. The exhibition will be in two sections with works displayed at Belfast Print Workshop Gallery. Seacourt Print Workshop will exhibit the prints in their display area at Homebase, Bangor, a recent partnership initiative aimed at engaging non-gallery audiences.

Both print facilities participated in the Rediscover Northern Ireland programme with an artist from each benefiting through a short residency at Pyramid Atlantic. Gretchen Schermerhorn, Papermill, Artistic Collaborations and Outreach Director with Pyramid Atlantic will be visiting both facilities during March to re-establish and develop the links forged through last years successful event. Pyramid Atlantic is a non-profit contemporary arts centre dedicated to the creation and appreciation of hand papermaking, printmaking, digital arts, and the art of the book. For nearly 25 years, Pyramid has provided opportunities for the discovery and creation of these fine arts through imaginative programming for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
