Olesya Dzhuaryeva visited Seacourt in April to demonstrate her cutting technique. She brought along some samples of the lino she uses which is a natural product reclaimed from Soviet era buildings. It is softer than the Hessian backed lino we have access to and can be cut without using a hotplate. It is also not in the least brittle which enables Olesya to get the high level of detail in her work. The workshop was fascinating and several members are now trying out the lino. Olesya will receive a proof from each print created.
