We are delighted to welcome Jill McKeown to the team at Seacourt. She took up post as Print for Wellbeing Development Officer in May and she will be bringing you some great new programmes aimed at feeling good, taking time away from the bustle of everyday life and being creative.
To launch our new programme we are partnering with Creativity and Wellbeing Week, an annual UK wide festival celebrating and showcasing some of the incredible work going on around arts and health. There is compelling and growing evidence that arts and culture can help us keep well, improve our health outcomes and live longer, higher quality lives. Visit their site - www.creativityandwellbeing.org.uk
The festival runs from 10th to 16th June and alongside our ongoing well-being programmes we’re offer a unique printmaking session with Jill -
‘Monoprinting with Plants’.
Take some ‘time out’ to be creative with nature in this taster workshop that combines printmaking and mindfulness. You will experiment with printing dried and fresh plants to create unique monoprints. This method of direct printing encourages improved wellbeing while harnessing your creativity to lift your mood.
The session will begin with a relaxing ten-minute guided mindfulness meditation on nature led by the founder of Mindfulness NI Caroline Stewart.
Sunday 16th June
2pm – 4pm, 4 places
